The next societal issue the NFL should tackle?
I can almost guarantee you there won't be a single time I criticize Matthew Stafford's mechanics. For all the harm you THINK it does, there are far more good things that Stafford does. So I've got no gripes about his mechanics or his funky flings at times, to me, for Stafford to become a certifiable top ten QB, what's between the ears needs to improve. Whether it be reads at the line of scrimmage before the play, using his eyes to move the secondary or just making wiser throws. Stafford, next to Megatron, is the absolute least of my worries with this year's Lions team.
Doug Farrar, in the link above, in my opinion picked a lousy game to critique anyway.
Stafford, off one of the best passing seasons in NFL history, probably came into that game with a bit too much swagger, and new Rams coach Jeff Fisher expected that and took advantage of it. Wait, Fisher > Stafford?!?! Uh, yea.
Keep in mind, if you didn't already know, Megatron was tackled inside the 5 last year 10 times, and SIX(!!!!) of those were inside the 1.
