Nerd of Batman, sports, logic, objectivity, Star Trek, personal enlightenment, Lincoln, the Rays, psychology, mic dropping. Kind've in that order.
If Anibal Sanchez pitches two more like last night and he may win the Cy Young. His league leading ERA is down to 2.50, and ERA+ is up to 168, leading the league as well.
Cleared as he was, I'm kind've joking when I wonder if Ndamukong Suh is stealing cable. Why else the paranoia? Strange stuff.
Having trouble embedding the video, but here, it's Jose Fernandez first career home run, in what was his final start of the season with the Marlins shutting down his incomparable right arm. Yea, he walked and watched it. Yea, there was stuff going on earlier in the game. Brian McCann had this handled with calm words at home plate after Fernandez's trot. Chris Johnson, on the other hand wanted some retribution. I can see where Johnson's aggravation is coming from. Not that talented, long struggle to achieve what he has this year, a journeyman type who probably respects every moment he has in the game, and he thinks Fernandez is acting like some petulent, young punk. Well, Fernandez IS young, but McCann had this dealt with. With Jason Heyward still out, Atlanta doesn't need to risk any injuries in a brawl, that Johnson could've ignited.
Also, I've said it since mid-summer, and maybe now since it's over you'll acknowledge his season, but Jose Fernandez's performance this year, playing half of it as a 20 year old, in some - or even many - ways is equal to Trout's unrivaled excellence from 2012.
Ugh. Been a terrible month for the only teamin sports I root for.
