There are certain teams, organizations, or programs that demand immediate respect.  The Steelers in the NFL; Red Wings in the NHL; Lakers in the NBA and Alabama in college football.  Wisconsin may not be the first college hoops program that you fit into such a category.  It would be the typical Duke, North Carolina, or Kentucky, but Bo Ryan and the Badgers are year-in and year-out a really tough out no matter where they play.  Granted, he hasn't won a national championship, but the Badgers fan base knows it can battle with any team in America in any venue.  Tuesday, he took is unranked club into Bloomington, Indiana and soundly beat the 2nd ranked Hoosiers.  That was the 11th consecutive time Wisconsin had beaten Indiana and it was the fifth straight time they had walked off Assembly Hall victorious.  No team had done that since 1923. Bo Ryan is intense and fiery, but he's also really good.  He's had one McDonald's All-American (Brian Butch) and yet in the 12-years at the helm in Madison, his winning percentage is 72.5%; his record in Big Ten play is 135-54...a winning percentage of over 71%-best of any Big Ten coach in history. He's led his team to the NCAA Tournament every year; he's won five conference crowns in the last 11 seasons;and has at least 20-wins in nine of the last 11.  Over the last six years, the Badgers are 166-56....the 11th best winning percentage in the country.  You may not like their deliberate style; or their lack of flare (highlight dunks); or maybe the limited players they send to the next level, but one thing you can't ignore with Wisconsin is their competitiveness and their tradition of winning.  And in the end, isn't that what it's really about.
